Do I have to work early shifts, long shifts, weekends, Bank Holidays etc on placement?

Early shifts, late shifts, long shifts, weekends etc are all a part of the normal nursing training experience and your requirement to attend these shifts will depend on the rota your mentor has put together for you. Please discuss any issues you have relating to shifts with your Mentor but be aware that they do not have an obligation to accommodate your needs. Students at SHU are entitled to all statutory bank holidays whilst on placement or in University and your mentor will be notified of these.
