Do I have to use red bags for biowaste?

0

Yes. This is for the protection of all individuals, especially UVM custodians, who have mistaken bio-waste for trash when it is collected in clear and orange bags. However, please make sure any chemically contaminated biowaste does not go into a biohazard bag. This can and has resulted in chemicals being put into autoclaves and thus the emission of toxic offgasses from the autoclave. For proper disposal of chemically contaminated materials, see Question #4 above.
