Do I have to use Psion CompactFlash cards?
No. CompactFlash is an industry standard and the majority of CF cards work fine with the Series 5. Any good dealer will indicate if particular cards are known to be incompatible with the 5. Third party cards are typically considerably cheaper than the equivalent Psion branded part. Performance can differ considerably between brands and sizes of CompactFlash card. Read times are typically quite similar but write times can vary by a factor of three or four with the very largest capacity cards often being slower. There are a number of sites on the web that provide relative performance information.
