Do I have to use https:// with my OpenID identifier?

You should always use the complete identifier URI which is something like https://.startssl.com. Providing incomplete identifiers by omitting https:// or using wrongfully http:// at the web site you want to login may or may not work. Sites which are updated to the latest OpenID version 2.0 don’t have these requirements usually, like the StartCom Forum. It’s enough to enter the identifier without any prefix and even submitting startssl.com alone works.
