No. During the signup process you’ll be given the option to transfer the existing registry, but it is not required. If you do not choose to transfer your domain, your registration remains with your current registrar and you are responsible for all ongoing domain name registration and renewal fees. Only the monthly hosting will be billed to your Copper.
