The StarBand service comes with an external satellite modem that plugs into an Ethernet or USB port. You do not need to purchase a specially configured PC, but you will need a PC with an Ethernet or USB port. • What computer hardware and peripherals do I need to run StarBand? When you purchase the StarBand service, you will get a package that includes the StarBand dish antenna and a StarBand Model 484 satellite modem that connects to an Ethernet or USB port on your existing PC. No telephone connection, no dial-up account and no separate Internet service provider account are needed. • Can I install software and peripherals on the computer? Yes, you can install additional software and peripherals. We suggest that you download the latest drivers for any peripherals you wish to install from the manufacturer’s Web site. • Can I set up a home network with the StarBand satellite modem?
