Most vending machines are opened during servicing and during this process it is easy to read the SmartMech tag board with the PDA. The SmartMech board is connected to the coin mechanism switch (patent pending) with a wire allowing the placement of the SmartMech board anywhere in a machine where it is convenient to access.
