Do i have to live on campus at Stony Brook, if i live in Brooklyn?
Well, since Stony Brook freshmen are not required to live on campus, even if they live in Iowa, I wouldn’t think that there would be a special rule for students from Brooklyn, so you’re free to live anywhere you’d like. However… If living on or just off campus is a financially feasible option, I would highly recommend it. Your college years are not just about getting an education – those four years at college are supposed to present the opportunity to begin living on your own, without mom and dad. It’s about doing your own laundry, managing your own budget, cooking your own meals, and especially managing your responsibilities and budgeting your time effectively. A college campus (and the nearby social gathering places) provides the opportunity to meet lots of new people, and to be exposed to different cultures and lifestyles.
