Do i have to go to drama school to be an actress?
For the time being, focus on your studies, and take part in as many amateur plays as possible. Look on Amdram.co.uk for groups near you. If you can, study drama for GCSE/A-Level, and volunteer for lots of student films, so you can get experience, even as an extra. I’ve started to look at good uni’s for acting/musical theatre (i’m 16 btw, in England) and i think you’ll find alot of the good schools (E.G. Mountview, RSAMD, RWCMD, BSA, LIPA) offer both Musical theatre and acting courses. BTW if you want to be an actor, it’s good to have at least basic singing/dance skills. Alot of schools teach this to a fairly high level (even on “acting” courses), so it might help you if you get some musical theatre experience. As for getting in, make sure you present yourself confidently, and easy to work with, and be prepared, and you have as good a chance as anybody!
