When we lived in our first apartment, we had no outside dryer vent. We put a pair of pantyhose on the end of the hose and this worked fairly well. You do have to remove the pantyhose after several loads and clean them, but it was better than the bare hose. It does add heat to your house which can be good in winter, but bad in summer, It does add moisture in your house which can be good in winter, but bad in the summer when your air conditioner is trying to remove extra humidity. Also the pantyhose does allow a small amount of lint to pass through the fabric weave, so you will notice excess lint on things in your wash area and more dust in the rest of your house.
