no you do not need to be computer literate. After it is set-up and tuned it doesnt have to be touched again and it operates transparent from the vehicles operator (unless further modifications to the automobile are made which necessitate retuning). However, to tune your engine using the MAFterburner, you would need to have basic computer skills to utilize the communications and configuration software, MAFCOMM, provided with the kit.
