Do i have to be a christian to wear a purity/chastity/promise ring?
Unbiased surveys by reliable survey takers: women who wear “purity/chastity/promise” rings, on average, become sexually active about 6 months later than their peers that don’t wear them. Also, their rate of unwanted pregnancies and/or STDs tends to be higher because they are not prepared and do not practice “safe” sex as much as their more worldly sisters do. Not to say you should not wear a ring if you want to, there is nothing about it that requires you to be a christian to wear one. Just be aware that the ring is not a chastity belt, it does not prevent intercourse. It is simply a declaration of intent. When you are at the age of “raging hormones”, intent can go out the window easier than you realize. So wear the ring, yes. And keep a couple of condoms in your purse just in case. Blessings on your Journey!
