Do i have a shot at pitching D1 baseball??
I hate to burst your bubble, but your stats don’t mean hardly squat. Your competition influences your W/L and ERA. Consequently, they are meaningless. I’ve umped some crap legion teams and I live in Tampa, one of the country’s baseball hotbeds. The stuff that does matter is your physical build, MPH, GPA, SAT, and intangibles. Your physical build is respectable at 6’3″, 180 lbs. At 16 you are still growing so there is potential. Your MPH is suspect. Most pitchers over enflate their velocity, so mid 80’s is a little suspect, especially if there is little movement. The scouts for Perfect Game this summer were looking for movement and you failed to mention if you had any. A flat 90+ MPH fastball will get ripped in D1 or D2 for that matter. Of course, control is also important, but if velocity and movement aren’t there you’ll get ripped even with control. Your school stuff is important and sounds good. “What is your GPA and SAT?” is always one of the first questions a college coach will ask
