Do I correctly know the speed that is expected from SIFY’s Broadband Internet Service ?
Internet Browsing/download speeds depend on lot of factors simultaneously. But Sify ensures to reserve 48 Kbps –64 Kbps (6 KBps – 8 KBps) bandwidth for each broadband user, on its own Internet network. However by the virtue of Internet properties we do have the following factors affecting the speed/browsing response. • Your own PC configuration: It depends on the CPU speed, memory (RAM) etc in your PC. • Multitasking while downloading: Close the applications running in the background, which are utilizing your memory. • Last Mile Internet bandwidth available to the site you are trying to visit. • Number of hits in the concerned site at that moment of time. • Server capacity of the concerned site Browsing/Download speed also depends on the network path (its performance & utilization at the given time) that the download takes beyond Sify’s network. However beyond above if you feel your speed is perpetually low, please contact the Sify Customer Care.
