Do I apply to the MSc or PhD programme?
If you do not already have a graduate degree you must apply to the MSc programme. At your Admission to Candidacy Exam, which occurs after 4-8 months in the programme, you may apply to transfer to the PhD programme. If you already have a MSc degree you can apply to either the PhD programme or the MSc programme and request a transfer to the PhD programme at your Admission to Candidacy Examination. Which of these options you select should be discussed with your potential supervisor.
