Do hypoglycemics have to check there blood sugar often?
I think doctors discourage people with reactive hypoglycemia when it comes to checking blood glucose. They don’t take it as seriously as they perhaps should as it tends to lead to type 2 diabetes. Those with reactive hypoglycemia rarely, if ever, have lows that end in them in the hospital. However, if someone is trying to maintain a healthy blood glucose then I think testing is a wise idea. And those with diabetes related hypoglycemia due to medications/insulin, need to check even more often because a low for them can lead to coma or death if they drop too low.
