Do Hotels & Hostels in the USA accept Travellers Cheques?
Most places yes to accept cash however Travelers Cheques you are going to run into alot of problems at almost anywhere you go. Also you need to think about where you are going, it is not recommended to not book in advance as it might be full where you want to stay. In any case I would suggest putting your money on a prepaid visa or mastercard and using it in this manner. Most places in the US don’t accept personal checks or checks in general anymore. Cash yes but I don’t think it would be wise to carry large sums of cash around. You don’t get change from traveler’s cheques. Trust me the best thing to do is to use a Prepaid Visa or Mastercard with your money on it. Why you ask? Because Visa and Mastercard are like cash and are accepted almost anywhere in the US that accepts credits cards which is about 99% of businesses. Also you wont have to pay exchange or conversion rates and your money is secure on the card rather than carrying checks or cash.
