Do horses naturally want to follow people?
Although horses are natural followers in life, horses generally don’t normally choose to follow predators around. People are perceived by horses as predators due to our hunting nature. Prey animals herd with other prey animals. It is not uncommon to see wild horses eating in the same fields as elk and deer. It would be pretty rare to see a mountain lion bedding down at night with the rancher’s sheep wouldn’t it. Man is the one that brought the horse into our world, not the other way around. Through proper preparation, clear communication, timing and feel along with respect, patience and love horses seem to bond to us quite well. Once they understand we are not there to hurt them, horses share their immeasurable love with us. Simon Lee Horsemanship will show you how to achieve these results.
