Do horses like having people sitting on their backs telling them what to do and riding them?

Some of them don’t like it one bit, especially if they’ve been ridden by people who are not very good riders and are constantly kicking and jerking them in the mouths and bouncing all over their backs. If horses are broken and trained well, and ridden by sympathetic people who are good riders, most horses, amazingly, seem to like being ridden, or at least tolerate it very well. I know many horses who come up to me when I go out into the field to catch them, and all I ever do is ride – – I don’t feed them or give them treats, so apparently they don’t find being ridden too distasteful.
