Do homeschool students need a work permit?

In most cases, yes. A minor may not work or attend paid training until he/she has obtained a work permit. There are, however, a few exceptions. If a minor is working as a farm laborer, domestic worker, golf caddie, newspaper carrier, performer/actor/model, or if the minor is legally emancipated, a high school graduate (or equivalent) or employed by his or her own parent who is the sole proprietor of a business, the minor is exempt from obtaining a work permit.
