Do Homeopaths Do Physical Exams?
If routine physical exams are part of the scope of practice of the homeopathic practitioner, they may schedule one along with the initial consultation. For example, a nurse midwife trained in homeopathy will do the ordinary exams required in her practice. In addition, she will prescribe homeopathic medicines when needed. Some medical doctors specializing in homeopathy will conduct physical exams as part of the homeopathic exam. Unlicensed* homeopaths practicing in health freedom states may conduct limited physical exams depending on their training and local restrictions. Often professional homeopaths will refer their patients to licensed professionals who specialize in diagnostic evaluations. *Most states do not require licensing for professional homeopaths.
