Do Heat Pumps need a “back up” heat source like a gas boiler?
Heat Pumps do not require a “back up” heating system. A Heat Pump is perfectly capable of providing all of a property’s heating and hot water. It is sometimes necessary to have a Heat Pump linked in with another heat source because the electrical supply to a property can be too weak. There are always options however as Heat Pump technology is extremely versatile.
