Do healthy bacteria survive in frozen yogurt?

0

My relations put fruited yogurt in the freezer for up to 2 days without any noticeable negative effects. According to the Australian Society of Dairy Technology yogurt (Yoghurt) bacteria will survive freezing even if frozen to the point of drying. The amount of living bacteria will be reduced the longer the yogurt is frozen.

If you mean cold but not ice frozen, then yes the bacteria will survive, But if it is frozen solid, then the ice crystals will foam in the membrane of the bacteria and cause the cell to rupture killing the bacteria.

Some can. It depends on the bacterium. Remember that freezing doesn’t necessarily kill bacteria.
