No, the OS-1C and the TIS-100 are both powered by the RTC9000 and the JBox, so there are no batteries to replace or unsightly receptacles in your entryway. The entire system is powered, over low-voltage cable, directly from the RTC9000 international dual output voltage power supply, so there is only one small unit requiring a 24 hour dedicated power source. The RTC9000 can be located at the cash/wrap area, the office or the IT rack/closet; anywhere that network connectivity is available.
