Do guys really expect women to wear high heels and dresses all the time?
Wearing high heels all the time is extremely bad for you and no man who cared about you would expect you to wear them all the time. My husband is a shoe maker by trade and they call high heels shin splitters for a reason. Of course, no man should expect you dress in anyway other than the way you want to dress.
I think a reasonable expectation for both men and women is to dress appropriately, that is, in a manner that shows respect for others and the particular environment in which one finds oneself. The guy you describe — the one who wears his pants so that you can see his underwear — does not meet this criterion. The woman who wears a very short skirt and shows a lot of cleavage does not meet this criterion either. On the other hand, the man or woman wearing jeans and a t-shirt may be dressed in a perfectly appropriate fashion, depending on the circumstances and style of clothing. Men do find it remarkably attractive and impressive to see women dressed in tasteful dresses, nice shoes, and so forth. That’s just the truth. I think all us guys wish women would dress this way more often. And, no doubt contrary to popular belief, I think we all would prefer to see far fewer women dressing provocatively.
