Do green anoles eat aphids and mites?

Answer Green anoles do come up as far as South Carolina. He may have stayed dormant in the cold and revived with the sun. For a while he will be going through relocation stress, he’s been popped into a different world and he’s not acclimated to it. I may take a week since he’s a wild caught to get his appetite back. He will need proper UVB lighting and correct temperatures to whet his appetite. A Reptisun 10.0 tube fluorescent (no coil or compact type) will do nicely for UVB, and a plain white household bulb in a dome fixture will provide light and heat. Also get him a little cave and some fake foliage so he can become more secure that he can hide safely. If you put a piece of fruit in the tank, he will eat the fruit flies that it will attract. He will eat crickets, moths, in the wild, they will eat termites. Mites do not expose him to. They are to anoles what ticks would be on mammals. Let him acclimate and then have him checked by a good reptile veterinarian.
