Do girls hate comics?
Girls are always an uphill battle getting them in the store. When I started here as a worker, there was a huge crotch-shot poster of Vampira in the front window. Girls walking by the shop wouldn’t come in because they thought we were perverts. I took it down to make the shop more inviting. It’s definitely a male-dominated business, but I have no problem selling comics by women. Too bad most of them have horrible dialogue. Twenty percent of my business is women. Half of those women are what you’d call “normal” women. Does being a Comic Book Nerd = Virgin? It can. If you don’t ever leave home and your relationships are with imaginary characters – then yeah, there can be a correlation between the two. If you’re a true nerd, the best is finding a girl whose also into comic books. Or a girl like my girlfriend, who doesn’t like comics but will read them to make me happy.
