Do German Pinschers respond to positive training methods only- without follow up training for disipline?

If you mean that by ignoring the bad things they do only and not correcting unacceptable behaviour with some disipline then the answer is no. The breed trains very well with positive training but must understand that some behaviours do have a negative effect followed by positive effect. Dogs naturally learn by example so be careful the example you give them unwittingly to follow. Negative training methods also do not work on thier own with this breed or any other ALL training must be that “TRAINING”, followed by a lot of praise to suit the dog. Some dogs are better with not to much praise due to the fact they forget to behave and are so excited that they take a long time to calm down again into training, so moderate it to your individual dog. All animals including human being learn by cause and effect this is the principle of ALL training.
