Hi yes its the time of the year [uk] for you to see ants, they love planters as they are warm and enclosed,you have just disturbed them,you can only get rid of them by dusting them and their lair with ant killer dust obtain in most garden centres, it will get rid of most but keep an eye on where you have ants because they multiply easily All the best John
