Do General Practices need to have a Caldicott Guardian?

0

All Practices should have a Caldicott/IG lead who is responsible for operational implementation of information governance in the Practice. For example, making sure there is an IG policy with procedures for staff to follow, ensuring training is made available to staff, etc. Additionally, there should be a General Practitioner that takes the lead on tricky data sharing/disclosure issues. This person could be termed the Caldicott Guardian, but there is no requirement that they are called this.
