Do Gas Drops and Colic Tablets Cause Constipation in Infants?
I’m wondering if anyone else has this problem. My son is now 3 months old and has suffered from gas almost from day one. We used the gas drops which seemed to work a little bit some of the time. Then someone told us about homeopathic colic tablets. These also kinda worked some of the time. We continued to use either the drops or tablets whenever he’d have a gas attack. About the same time we started using the colic tablets, I noticed a decrease in his bowel movements. He went 24 hours, then 48, then over 80 before having a BM. He’s totally breastfed and the only thing different in his diet was the colic tablets. I did read online that it isn’t unusual for breastfed babies to go several days before having a BM. He didn’t seem to be in pain but he was getting cranky. We did stop the drops and the colic tablets and he’s back on a normal schedule. Has this happened to anyone else?
