Do furloughed teachers participate in the transfer process?
At this time, furloughed teachers who are placeholding are not eligible for the transfer process. Furloughed teachers will continue to be recalled to service in the order of their system seniority, subject to certification, with the most senior teacher being recalled first and so on. No new teachers may be hired until all laid-off teachers in their areas of certification either have been reinstated or have declined an appropriate offer of reinstatement.
