Do front loading washing machines save energy and water to make the price worth the product?
I was brought up with front loading machines. They are more water efficient, frequently more energy efficient, and also gentler with the clothing washed in them, while doing a more effective job of cleaning them. I would not expect good used ones to be readily available, though there is probably somebody out there who is not happy with theirs. However, buying a floor model is a possibility. the best chance would be when the new models are released, but I am afraid I can’t help with the timing on that. I’d talk with your local appliance stores, and see what you can come up with. remember if you buy one that you need to use an HE type detergent. we use All or Tide HE in ours – they are produce less suds than regular detergents, to avoid foaming.
