Frogs are amphibians, therefore they can live on both land and water. However, most frogs prefer to live on both – some breed on water, some on land etc. If you are keeping pet frogs you need both a place for them to swim and dry land.

If they have no way of getting oxygen, yes. But over the winter I think their hearts freeze.
