It depends on culture. I hug girls that are friends, but not my guy friends. They get handshakes. I have noticed that other cultures like Hispanics hug way more than anyone I have seen. They hug strangers LoL. I have been around the world with the military and have been lucky enough to see a lot of other cultures. Hispanics win hands down on the hugging of friends. Hope this helps.
