Do four-cylinder engines require more power to start than six-cylinder engines?
There are some four-cylinder engines that require more power to start than six-cylinder engines. In a four-cylinder vehicle, the starter usually rotates at a higher revolution per minute (rpm), so there are less chances to “fire” per revolution. Other factors are compression ratios, the starter motor’s design and vehicle options.
