Do Foster children automatically qualify for free meals?
No, households with foster children must complete an application for each foster child living in a household. Sections 1, 3, and 9 of the Household Application must be completed. An adult social security number is NOT required, and a foster child application is treated as a household of one. The majority of foster children will qualify for free meals, if their personal use income is below the eligibility guidelines.
