Do fish get thirsty?

Fish have internal glands to regulate “osmosis” the amount of water within each cell of their body. so, therefore, there is never a desire to “get thirsty” or “drink”. IF a fresh water fish were placed into salty water, or brackish water… the same glands would try to add additional water to each cell, and to remove the salt. However, OTHER problems due to the salt would affect the fish. And they would eventually, slowly, die.
