Do First Time Licensure students have to pass the Praxis II before they can student teach or can they take it during student teaching?
All students completing licensure programs must pass the Praxis II exams prior to completion of the internship. It is a requirement of “Program Completion” at UNR and of the State Department of Education for a teacher to be considered “highly qualified.” The State no longer allows new license applicants a time period for passing the Praxis II exams; applicants for licensure must submit passing scores for the Praxis II exams required in their licensure area.
