Do ferrets necessarily need to live in a cage?

0

1) My ferrets are free-range and have a cage. Ferrets like to have a place to call home, like dogs take to corners or under tables and cats will sit up high and out of reach. Ferrets like their cages, as long as they get a lot of time outside of them. 2) I have two dogs: a 13lbs Boston Terrier and a 55lbs Foxhound. The BT is no issue at all, he doesn’t mind them. Foxhounds were bred to chase, so keep in mind if your breed will give chase or try to “hunt” your ferret. Does your dog like to chase squirrels? If so, you may need to keep him separate when the ferrets are about. My Foxhound would never purposely injure my ferrets, but he gets excited and tries to play with them, the way ferrets play and that can be dangerous since he’s so much bigger. 3) The cats shouldn’t be much of an issue if the personalities don’t clash. All animals are different, like people. My parents have a large male cat and a young new female kitten and my ferrets get along fine (more than fine, they’re great frie
