Do female dogs change temperament when they come into season? ?

My females start to get very skittish about a month before their season. They also become very clingy and affectionate. Sometimes they start to destroy their toys and beds so her behaviour is not unusual. The last time one of my girls was just near her season she pulled an Azalea out of a large pot in the garden and ran away with it, lol! It’s probably a bit like PMT in humans. Once she comes into season she will calm down. She’ll ‘spot’ for a few days then it will become a little heavier and will then start to dry up around about the 10th/11th day when she will be ovulating. Her season will last for 21 days so just keep an eye on her the whole three weeks. You can buy a ‘B*tch Spray and spray her rear end and tail with it to deter any unwanted suitors but this will not put off a rampant male when she is at the height of her season so if you walk her always keep her on the lead and try to take her somewhere quiet where there will be no other dogs. Good luck.
