Do female Australian Green Tree Frogs croak as well?
I remember when I was ‘croaking puzzled’ as you are, a few years ago. I thought I’d add another tree frog to my 11 frog collection and I bought a female white lipped tree frog. Yet, I was so shocked to see it bloat up its vocal sack and croak! I was so angry that the shop had ‘cheated’ me by giving me a male I went straight there the next day and wanted an explanation. Well, it was quite an embarassing situation, it really was a female, and to answer your question, yes females DO croak So yes females do croak but here’s the catch – females do not croak as MUCH as males and not as LOUD. Plus, their vocal sack does not GROW as much as males when they are croaking. From then on, I bought more females and males and both the sexes began to croak, and I was no longer croaking puzzled. About swapping them, I’m sure you can do that from the pet store you bought them! hope I helped!
