Do feed pellets get old?
Yes. Never feed pellets that are older than a couple of months, moldy, rancid, or that have become wet or soiled and allowed to dry. Heat has a negative affect on all food stuffs and rapidly reduces the quality. I recommend not storing rabbit feed over 2 to 3 weeks before use. If your feed store seems to always have the same bags available then shop elsewhere. Your feedstore should order only enough to supply their customers for the coming week and never stock large quantities of feed allowing it to become old.
