A Venture Capatalist is a person who invests in other businesses, making their living from the Return on Investment from investing in the business. Typically this is done on the ground floor of a business. (For example, can you imagine having given Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak like $25,000 back in the late 70s for a quarter interest in Apple? 😉 ) See the Wikipedia article below for more on Venture Capitalism. I’d look at Salary.com for the averages of Executive Assistants in the Bay Area for comparisons. Absent any specifics, the best you can do is make comparisons to the field of EA’s at large. Be aware: Typically Executive Assistants have to have some kind of background in the field being applied to, and some long-time experience in the field and/or in an Administrative Assistant position. (For example, I have a BS in Business Administration and am currently an Executive Assistant to a Chief Financial Officer. My boss also has a BS, but also a CPA ticket, so he’s the CFO. 😉 ) EA’s
