Do events today in Lahore prove that it is nearly impossible to defend?
Pakistan has severe political problems. Muslim fanatics control nearly 20% of the country and have infiltrated all walks of power. Should a Politician try anything to stop these fanatics, they face certain assassination. In addition, Politicians in Pakistan concentrate so much of their time with inter-party bickering, the only thing they agree on, is to deny they have serious problems with terrorism. They are more concerned with “saving face” than getting to the truth. Who will they blame for this new outrage ? For example, they still deny Pakistans involvement in Mumbai. Asif Iqbal, the former Pakistan Cricket captain, said today that his country should be deeply ashamed at what has happened to the Sri Lankan Cricket team.. I never heard ANY Pakistani saying the same about the Mumbai terror attacks ! Nor has any Pakistani condemned what terrorists have achieved in their country. In the end it is their own cowardace by not acting, that has exasperated the problems they face. Giving in
