Do English gardens and country side still have flowers and look green in early September?

We have had so much rain that yeas the gardens and fields certainly do look green in September. It is now the end of October and I am looking at my garden and thinking that I shall have to cut the grass again very soon.I have some very pretty yellow flowers out and the last of my red and yellow roses are out..I have noticed also that some pretty mauve spring flowers are blooming.I think that the only time we do not see green fields and lawns is when they are covered with snow.
