Do engineers earn more than architects?

It is depend upon the skill and ability, but its hard to answer.

It’s hard to answer the salary question outside of starting positions. Registered architects can own their own businesses and therefore earning potential is limited only on your skill and ability to innovate. The same holds true for engineers. Overly simplified the jobs are similar but: An architect deals with the look of the structure. Finishes, colors, building materials. An engineer deals with the building’s guts: structural analysis, heating and cooling, foundations, electical requirements. Thus the schooling is tailored to the disciplines. Somewhere along the line the architect takes more schooling in art and the engineers take more schooling in the sciences. From there you can follow your interest.
