Do elementary students have homework?
Elementary students are given time to complete daily assignments in class as much as is possible allowing time for family, church, and community related activities. However, work not completed in class becomes homework and is the responsibility of the student to complete prior to the date due. Generally, weekend assignments are not given for elementary students. Elementary students are expected to practice their Bible memory verse, spelling words, and math facts at home. Students are also required to regularly engage in the outside reading program. Intermediate students may expect to study for tests and may be required to do library research. Parents should contact their student’s teacher if their child regularly has more than one hour of homework each night.
