Can a health care organization save money by using electronic medical records’ In a cost-benefit study, researchers evaluated the financial impact of installing an EMR system in an ambulatory primary care setting. Taking data from their own institution, from published literature, and from a panel of experts, they estimate that a primary care provider could save $86,400 over a 5-year period.
