OK, just pointing out that you don’t actually need steel strings. Nickel strings will also work (in fact, they’re what were originally used on electric guitars), of course, and give you a warmer tone (presumably the appeal of using nylon strings). Both are highly magnetic, so… Also, while I’ve never tried nylon strings on an electric (keep in mind you’ll probably have to modify the nut to get them to fit), it seems that as long as they have a steel and/or nickel core (which many modern ones do), they would work… they’d just get less volume, so you’d have to up the amp and probably use a compressor if you don’t already.
